From the Broadway stage to dance clubs all around the U.S., ANNIE BALTIC is a multi-talented force of musical nature, a fresh, contemporary young performer whose bold and freewheeling creative spirit transcends easy, common categorization. Since wrapping her role of Jane Banks in The Disney Company's run of "Mary Poppins" at the New Amsterdam Theatre, the 14 year old New York based dynamo - a musical theatre veteran who has been in national touring companies since age nine - has blossomed as a singer and songwriter. With the release of her infectious debut single "Low Key," Annie quickly broke through as a dance/pop recording artist to know.
Helmed by Grammy nominated producer/remixer DJ Mike Rizzo, who has worked studio remix magic for everyone from Adele and Britney Spears to Adam Lambert, Jason Derulo and Justin Timberlake featuring Beyonce, "Low Key" debuted at #50 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club chart and ultimately reached #23. On the influential DJ Times National Dance/Crossover chart, it reached #13 - placing Annie among superstars Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson and Jennifer Lopez, as well as the latest song by the legendary Aretha Franklin. Working with Rob Schwartz of Chetown Films, Annie also created a fun, high energy video that truly reflected the song's dynamic exuberance. Not surprisingly considering her rich history as a young stage performer, Annie also loves acting and often gets song ideas from assignments she works on in her acting classes. She has been performing since began her professional theater career in 2009 with Off-Broadway performances in "Pucelandia, The Musical" and the reading of "1812, The Musical." In early 2011, she scored the alternating roles of "Gracie Shin" and "Amaryllis" in a national tour of "The Music Man" and was on the road with her mom for several months, performing in both big cities and small towns. She left that tour early to hit the road for six months with the national tour of "Mary Poppins," which played in cities from Salt Lake City to San Antonio, Chicago, Toronto and Mexico City. When that ended, the director asked Annie if she wanted to reprise her role as Jane Banks in the Broadway production of the classic Disney musical. Did she ever! Broadway was a dream come true and she played Jane for another six months in NYC at the New Amsterdam Theater on 42nd Street. Being home allowed her free time to continue her songwriting. In addition to her theater and singing career, Annie has also performed in several independent and educational films and commercials, and has done numerous voiceovers.
As she has developed as a "multiple threat" performer and artist, Annie has also found unique ways of giving back - including a recent performance at Club 4Sixty6 in West Orange, NJ at a toy drive and fundraiser for St. Jude Children's Hospital. In addition, Annie's family farm is home to a Horses-4-Hope non-profit equestrian center whose mission is to provide refuge and give homes to donated or neglected horses and offer free therapy to kids and adults with physical, mental, emotional, speech and learning disabilities. Horses-4-Hope's goal is to build hope, increase self-esteem and to enhance the joy and inspiration for life in all individuals through the joy of horseback riding. The barn on the Baltic property houses over ten horses. Among other contributions, Annie has designed custom T-shirts that the organization sells to raise money.
"With 'Low Key' hitting the charts and the release of the new single, this is a very exciting time for me," states Annie. "It's fascinating to start with an event that happens in my life and then to take that, write about it, refine it and then record a new song that brings the experience to life in a whole new way. For me, music is all about sharing myself, my thoughts, my fears and my dreams with other people, and I look forward to many exciting new opportunities to do that in the near future."
