British-born, French-raised, London-based singer songwriter Hero Fisher is one of Europe's most exciting musical exports. Her debut album Delivery released in July 2015 and featured acclaimed lead single "Break My Heart And Mend It." Today, Hero is back with a new video for evocative album track "Breathe" released via PopMatters. Highlighted by haunting melodies and radiating guitar textures, the video toes the line between drama and delicacy.
"'Breathe' touches on a lighter feeling than the song. I usually like to avoid narratives in my videos and focus more on images that I think will lift the evolution of the song itself. I think the song is about letting go of unrealistic anxieties; like a fear of staying stuck in the same place forever, or a fear of leaving the house and never finding your way back; and trying to embrace the elements around you, breathing into things." - Hero Fisher

Recorded in both Brooklyn and London, Delivery draws on a decade of material that Hero squirrelled away, condensing it into ten tracks that are epic in their intimacy. Produced by Charlie Russell and Bradley Spence (Chapel Club, Duke Spirit, Barry Adamson) and written across Hero's many different residences, it's an album that conjures up its own environment rather than aligning itself to an established one.
Shortlisted for the 2014 Glastonbury Emerging Talent Prize, Hero has collaborated with the likes of
Alison Mosshart and
Boy George in the Mark Ronson-scored ballet Carbon Life + opened for
The Rolling Stones &
Neil Young at Hyde Park. With a big year ahead, stay tuned for more from
Hero Fisher in 2016!
