Bret Michaels, the lead singer of the 1980s rock band Poison, brings his True Grit country-rock solo tour to The Orleans Showroom Nov. 21 and 22.
A jack-of-all-trades, Michaels has found success in the music industry with the Billboard chart-topping band, Poison; and on television, starring in VH1's "Rock of Love with Bret Michaels" and NBC's "Celebrity Apprentice 3."
Michaels first rose to fame as the lead singer of Poison, most known for its 1988 #1 hit single, "Every Rose Has Its Thorn." A decade later, Michaels launched his first solo album "A Letter from Death Row," the soundtrack to the same-titled movie he starred in, directed, and produced with Sheen/Michaels Entertainment, a film production company he started with Charlie Sheen. The company also produced "No Code of Conduct," "Free Money," and "In God's Hands."
The rocker's career expanded to television in 2007 when he starred in "Rock of Love with Bret Michaels," a VH1 reality dating show spanning three seasons that served as the inspiration behind his solo album "Rock My World." His reality television career continued with the third season of "Celebrity Apprentice," a reality game show hosted by Donald Trump. Michaels went on to win the title of Celebrity Apprentice and raised $640,000 for the American Diabetes Association, his chosen benefitting charity.
After winning "Celebrity Apprentice," Michaels went on to release the 2010 Billboard #1 Hard Rock Album "Custom Built," featuring a collaboration with
Miley Cyrus and a cover of Sublime's hit "What I Got." In April 2015, Michaels released country-rock single "Girls on Bars," an original song on the compilation album, "True Grit." Other original songs on the album include "A Beautiful Soul" and "Get Undone."
The show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are available starting from $59.95 plus tax and fees and can be purchased at any Boyd Gaming Box Office, by calling
