Breakout Australian band Tora's new track, "Empyrean," premieres today via Baeble-listen here. Of the track, Baeble says, "When I first heard indie-electronic band Tora's newest song, I immediately felt like I was living on a different planet. Super smooth synths blaze over minimal percussive details."

Tora will release their debut album Take A Rest on June 9.

Of "Empyrean," frontman Jo Loewenthal says, "Empyrean is a story about the highs and lows of a homeless man in Montreal, who fears the worst when he realizes that winter is coming back. It's one of the more 'dancy' songs from the album, with quite a lot of experimentation in the production elements. Definitely one of the new songs we are most looking forward to performing live."

Tora's previously released singles from Take A Rest include "Too Much," "Another Case" and "Amsterdam." "Another Case" has earned spins on triple j, BBC Radio 1 and Beats 1, as well as a spot on Spotify's "Chill Vibes" playlist. Tora's online catalogue now has over 30 million streams to date.

Inspired while touring Australia, Europe and North America, Tora wrote Take A Rest over a two year period in various locations around the globe. The band composed, recorded, produced and mixed the album in their home studios in Byron Bay, Australia. Tora took a novel approach to recording Take A Rest by incorporating organic sounds heard in guitarist Jai Piccone's garden, including the buzzing of flies, bamboo creaking in the wind and the scraping of cactuses with rakes. Take A Rest was mastered by Grammy nominated engineer Andrei Eremin (Chet Faker, WAFIA, Hiatus Kaiyote).

Tora is a four-piece electronic band made up of Jo Loewenthal (lead vocals, guitar, keys),
Jai Piccone (guitar, keys, vocals), Thorne Davis (drums) and Shaun Johnston (bass guitar).

Growing up as childhood friends, Tora formed in 2013 after its members graduated from high school. The band garnered a global audience after the release of their first two EPs, Intro (2013) and Eat The Sun (2014), which earned them a triple j Unearthed spot at Australia's 2014 Splendour in the Grass festival. Following this success, Tora embarked on international tours and caught the attention of several global tastemakers, including LA producer Galimatias, whose remix of Tora's track "Jaigantic" has over 15 million streams to date. Tora will embark on an international tour later this year, with stops in Australia, Europe and United Kingdom. See the full list of tour dates below. Purchase tickets here.
