In addition to his Best Song Awards, Blind Lemon Pledge was also honored to have his eponymously named Blues Band nominated by Bongo Boy Records in the Americana Music Association Awardsfor Best Duo/Group of the Year. Bongo Boy has featured Pledge's songs on their critically acclaimedBackroom Blues compilations.
Even as he achieves breakthroughs in the Americana genre, Blind Lemon Pledge's extensive blues catalogue continues to be recognized. The Just Plain Folks Music Association recently nominated the 2014 song "Buley's Farm" from his "Evangeline" album for Best Blues Song - without him formally entering the competition. The organization states, "After screening 17,400+ albums and 240K+ songs over 18 months, five rounds of judging along with the final nomination round, we've come up with song and album nominees in over 70 genres of music."
