Black Suit Youth to Appear on Jeremy X. Halpern's Music Show

Rising stars of the alternative rock nation, Long Island's Black Suit Youth will be special guests on Jeremy X. Halpern's weekly music show aired on www.Weirdos.TV Jeremy X. Halpern and Black Suit Youth will jam at Halpern's Williamsburg studio on Tuesday March 9, 2010.

Black Suit Youth is a high energy, alternative/ post punk rock band from Long Island, New York. Formed in 2004 under the original name The New York Dynamite, the band recorded their debut EP with burgeoning producer Tomas Costanza (Diffuser, Band Camp, Disney artists). The "Dynamite" spent the next two years touring the East Coast and Mid-West incessantly in support of the ep. Months on the road transformed the band into a cohesive unit and a punishing live act. While on tour and at home they sold over 1,000 copies of their debut cd-r EP.

The year 2007 brought with it a name change and a new album. In summer 2007, the band, now called Black Suit Youth, released Our Future is History. The record featured six explosive new tracks spliced with the former six song EP. The album was released on ITUNES on November 13th. Black Suit Youth booked a late summer tour to support the record. They followed up with the "East Of Eden" ep in October 2008. They toured and opened for national acts in support. Currently the band is putting the finishing touches on "Meet Me In Death Valley" a new full length set for a summer 2010 release. Some new tracks will be previewed in their live set.

Weirdos.TV Music Show: Unsuspecting musicians and other talented individuals will be lured into the depths of Williamsburg, to the underground laboratory known as "heddroom", where Jeremy X. has been cooking up his latest mayhem. They'll be induced to improvise with the Head Weirdo, co-mingling their musical ideas and riffing in the universal language of groove. Nonsensical interviews with the participants will result in little information, and lots of fun. Jeremy X. Halpern (Founder) is also the sole proprietor of 1-800-Weirdos. He founded Verge as a multimedia performance group in 1987; they performed their first gig at CBGBs in 1988. At 1-800-Weirdos, he performs a LIVE interactive musical reality Internet TV show EVERY NIGHT at MIDNIGHT on http://www.Weirdos.TV. As an actor, he has performed on stage and in films and video including acclaimed Iranian director Amir Naderi's "Sound Barrier". As a theatre director, he has masterminded such bizarre epics as "Speak of the Devil (A Satanic Cabaret)" and "Battle of the Dead Celebs". As a composer, he has invented soundtracks for Verge, as well as having scored many short films. As an actor, he has worked with such notables as Anne Bogart, Jerzy Grotowski, and Eugenio Barba. He recently performed the NTUSA's highly acclaimed show, "Chautauqua!" in its return engagement at The Public Theatre for its "Under the Radar" festival.
