Billboard to Honor Neil Diamond with 'Legend of Live' Award, 11/8

Neil Diamond is set to receive the "Legend of Live" Award at the 2012 Billboard Touring Awards on Nov. 8, Billboard Announced today. 

"There is no musical expression that quite compares with that of presenting your work to a live audience," Diamond said. "It is the kind of experience that can both exhilarate and humble you at the same time. I'm honored to receive Billboard's Legend of Live Award, and to have had the opportunity to perform live to audiences all over the world for the past 45 years. For me, there is no higher musical calling."

Across a musical career spanning nearly five decades, Neil Diamond has sold more than 125
million albums worldwide, with a remarkable track record of 16 Top Ten albums, and 37 Top
Ten singles. A Grammy Award-winning artist, Neil Diamond has been inducted into the Rock
and Roll Hall of Fame, Songwriter's Hall of Fame and is a recipient of the Sammy Cahn Lifetime
Achievement Award. Among Diamond's many other honors, he has received a Golden Globe
Award, 12 Grammy nominations and was named the 2009 MusiCares Person of the Year.
