Beverley Knight Announces Special Concert with Full Symphony Orchestra Image

Award winning UK soul singer and songwriter Beverley Knight is celebrating an incredible 25 years in music next year. To mark the anniversary Knight has announced her first ever full concert with a symphony orchestra at London's Royal Festival Hall on Thursday May 23rd 2019. The concert will feature specially arranged versions of many of the singer's dozen strong Top 40 hits as well as other songs associated with her celebrated career, taking in her Olivier Award nominated foray into Musical Theatre, along with some duets and musical surprises.

Knight commented: I'm so proud to still be here and still be moving forward 25 years in to my career! While I will continue to push forward in both my music and acting career, I wanted to acknowledge my journey so far and put on a special and unique show for fans, many of whom have supported me since day one.

Knight, who was awarded an MBE in 2007 for services to music and charity, signed her first record deal back in 1994 and recorded her first single, the club classic "Flavour of the Old School", which was released the following year. She has since recorded 8 studio albums many of which have been certified gold and as well as a platinum selling hits collection Voice, The Best of Beverley Knight. Recently she has starred, to much acclaim, in a run of hit West End musicals including The Bodyguard, Memphis, CATS, and this year she played Emmeline Pankhurst at The Old Vic in new musical Sylvia, garnering rave reviews.

Next week Knight is the subject of a South Bank Show Special presented by Sir Melvyn Bragg, which will be shown on Sky Arts at 10.00pm on Wednesday November 14th. She will also appear at the London Palladium on November 22nd celebrating the songbook of the great Stevie Wonder, which will be broadcast as part of BBC Radio 2's Friday Night Is Music Night series early next year.

Tickets for the 'BK25' concert at The Royal Festival Hall will go on sale at 9am on Friday November 9th with a fan pre - sale from 10.00am Tuesday November 6th - see beverleyknight.com and her social media for details.
