Following five stunning releases, a headline show at London's iconic St.Pancras Church, and support from some of the biggest names in the industry, including one of Ben's life-long idols Elton John, who went on to say that "Benedict Cork is a name to look out for" live on his 'Rocket Hour' radio show on Apple Beats 1, Benedict Cork has finally unveiled his 'Piano Tapes' EP.
Recorded completely live at Red Gate Recorders in Los Angeles with no more than a voice and a grand piano, Benedict Cork delivers exactly what fans have been etching for. When you listen to 'Piano Tapes', you're immediately drawn to how raw and natural each and every track really is, giving listeners the opportunity to experience Ben's talent in it's truest light.
Speaking on the process of creating 'Piano Tapes' Benedict notes "I wanted this first release to be super raw so we recorded all five tracks completely live, just me and the piano. I love the energy of a live record; I think all the little imperfections are what make them exciting and real. It reminded me of when people used to record to tape, and you'd only really get one shot to nail the performance in full, which is where the title of the EP 'Piano Tapes' came from. It's been so rewarding putting these live performances out one by one and hearing people's reactions; that in a world of so much high production and technology, people still seem to dig a voice and a piano. It's been really refreshing!"
2018 has been an incredible year for Benedict Cork, and he is showing no signs of slowing down. From the 22nd of October to the 2nd of November, Ben will be taking his music on the road to showcase his talent to thousands of college students across Britain.
