Dreamy indie pop outfit Beauty Queen have shared the new single "Sold You Out", premiering exclusively with All Things Go today.
The track is taken off her forthcoming debut EP Out of Touch, out April 19th via Brooklyn's Sleep Well Records. The most recent single, "The Only One" was added to Sub Pop's 'Sub Pop Suggests' Spotify playlist and peaked in the top 10 of HypeM.
Hazy and lush, Beauty Queen's music washes over you like low hanging West coast sunshine. Echoes of Patsy Cline and Beach House, Beauty Queen is best listened to while smoking at the back end of the parking lot, while skipping 2nd period AP trig.
The brainchild of Katie Iannitello, and produced by the ever chill Henry Nowhere (of Day Wave), Beauty Queen's vintage bedroom pop vibe is reminiscent of Katie's native Maui.
The Out of Touch EP brings to life what we all face at some point, a feeling that we've lost touch with ourselves. Although the lyrical content may seem grim at times, the instrumentation reminds us all that there is a balance, and that life is powerful and full of energy.
