Beatport, the principal online destination for electronic music culture, is pleased to announce it will for the first time host a stage at the Electric Zoo Festival, New York City's premier electronic music festival, produced by Made Event. Beatport and Made Event are both SFX Entertainment, Inc. companies.
Beatport is taking over the Riverside stage for the entirety of the three-day festival, to be held over Labor Day weekend, Aug. 29 - 31, at Randall's Island Park in New York, for the sixth straight year. The Beatport Stage lineup features up-and-comers like Sydney, Australia's What So Not and UK deep house talents Gorgon City, as well as legendary names such as Paul Van Dyk, Robbie Rivera and Chase & Status. Over the three-day weekend, Electric Zoo will play host to more than 135 artists.
"From the biggest superstar to the aspirational DJ, or from progressive house to the most unique sub-genre, Beatport's mission is to support all DJs, all styles, all genres," said Beatport Executive Creative Director Clark Warner. "The Electric Zoo Festival is renowned for featuring the widest range of performers and music, which makes this a perfect match. We're beyond proud to lend our name and support to this legendary event."
"Beatport is the most recognized brand in dance music, so to have them be a part of this year's Electric Zoo Festival is a very special feeling," said Mike Bindra and Laura De Palma, co-CEOs of Made Event and creators of Electric Zoo. "Working with them has made it clear we share a common passion for this music and this community."
