Boston, MA based electronic-pop quartet Bearstronaut have been named the winner of Guitar Center and Converse's second annual Get Out of the Garage. The announcement comes after five finalists, chosen from over 8,000 submissions nationwide, performed live at a grand finals event in Brooklyn, NY. The event took place at Converse Rubber Tracks recording studios, was hosted by renowned music journalist and radio DJ Nic Harcourt and included a performance from Best Coast.
As the winners, Bearstronaut will get the chance to perform live in front of a national television audience on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, record at state-of-the-art Converse Rubber Tracks Studios, take home new gear and $25,000 cash. Bearstronaut will also be given the resources to film a professionally directed and produced music video and will receive free worldwide digital distribution through TuneCore.
