Critically acclaimed family music favorite Bari Koral Family Rock Band celebrates the release of their new album "The Apple Tree & The Honey Bee" in a high-spirited concert for all ages on Sunday, October 26, 3:30 pm at Club Passim, 47 Palmer Street, Cambridge.
Bari Koral's original, catchy, pop-friendly tunes are guaranteed to get kids and parents alike up and rockin', as they pop like popcorn, grow from seeds into apple trees, run like the gingerbread man, and transform into butterflies. This celebratory concert features fan favorite tunes from previous releases, and the latest hits-in-the-making, recorded in Nashville and produced by the industry legend Brad Jones.
A widely respected recording artist, Bari Koral has also established herself as a leading force in the yoga for kids movement. Her tunes are widely heard in kids' yoga classes and preschool classrooms, and as an industry expert, she lectures nationally on the subject. Koral will soon premiere as host of Yogapalooza, the world's first yoga-based, movement-and-music TV show for kids, coming soon on the Veria Living Network.
People Magazine named Bari's 2012 release, Anna and the Cupcakes, one of the year's coolest albums for kids. Bari's songs are in regular rotation on Sirius/XM Radio's Kids Place Live, and her recordings have been honored with two Parents' Choice Awards and two NAPPA Awards. New York Family Magazine praised "Bari Koral's soulful music and smart pop hooks."
Enthused Jeff Bogle of Out With The Kids pondered, "What would Norah Jones sound like if she decided to up the tempo a bit and make music geared towards young people? My guess is that she would probably emulate the music the Bari Koral Family Rock Band is making right now."
Before entering the world of family music, Bari Koral spent nearly eight years touring as a successful folk/pop singer, ultimately becoming one of the top grossing acts on the college circuit, frequently compared to headliner singer/songwriters including Jewel, Norah Jones, and Joan Osborne. Other Bari Koral music and yoga appearances for kids and families this year include the White House, New Orleans Jazz Fest, Newport Folk & Newport Jazz Family Show, Monterey Jazz Festival, Hard Rock Café in Philadelphia, and more.
