Band of Merrymakers is currently hard at work on the highly anticipated follow-up to their debut album Welcome to Our Christmas Party, and their new single "Christmas Everyday" featuring Charity Daw gets the sleigh ride started on Nov. 9, when the song will be available on iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, DEEZER, Tidal, Pandora and Shazam. Welcome to Our Christmas Party was released in 2015 on Sony Masterworks, and broke the Top 10 on the iTunes Holiday Albums Chart.
"Christmas Everyday," featuring singer/songwriter Charity Daw, is a Wall of Sound-inspired, infectious, holiday tune that will turn the most stubborn scrooge into a celebratory Santa. The song was discovered as an unearthed demo written by Sam Hollander's childhood pal, Jaik Miller, who tragically passed away years before. Upon first listen, Sam knew this beautiful tune had to be heard, and immediately shared it with the band. The single was born as was a sweet love letter to the season from a brilliant, unheralded songwriter.
Band of Merrymakers is a rotating-cast holiday supergroup created by hit songwriters Sam Hollander (Panic! At The Disco, Fitz & the Tantrums, Katy Perry, Train and One Direction) and Kevin Griffin (Taylor Swift, Sugarland, Blondie and Meatloaf). The group was established with the philanthropic goal of raising awareness and donations for non-profit organizations and charities. All Band of Merrymakers proceeds will benefit MusiCares, a charity founded by the Recording Academy™ that ensures music people have a place to turn in times of financial, medical, and personal need. Participating Band of Merrymakers artists have included Christina Perri, Mark McGrath, Bebe Rexha, Fitz & The Tantrums, Lisa Loeb, Natasha Bedingfield, Tyler Glenn of Neon Trees, Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum, Owl City, Nick Hexum of 311, Andrew McMahon, Jason Wade (Lifehouse), The Mowglis, 3OH!3 and Dan Wilson (Semisonic). The group has performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting, Extra, NBC's Today Show and more.
Charity Daw, a native of Miami, originally appeared on Season 7 of American Idol followed by a four year stint in Nashville where she honed her songwriting and performing skills on the city's famed Music Row. She now resides in Los Angeles where she has written songs for the hit franchises Disney Descendants and Teen Beach, Dove Cameron, Mattel's American Girl, Jordan Fisher, Alyson Stoner, We The Kings, firekid, and Andrew Dice Clay's Showtime series DICE, to name a few.
The 87th Annual Hollywood Christmas Parade is a true Hollywood yearly tradition, attracting more than one million in attendance each year, with larger than life inflatable character balloons, award winning bands, colorful equestrians, ornate floats, popular characters/novelties, celebrity filled cars and, of course, Santa Claus making the much heralded 3.2 mile trek through the streets of Hollywood, California. This year, the Hollywood Christmas Parade features a reunion with some of American Idol's top performers. With Nancy O'Dell as Grand Marshal, musical performances will be featured during the parade and national telecast, and will include the following artists: Ashanti, Clare Dunn, The Band Of Merrymakers, The Tearaways, David Archuleta, Ruben Studdard, Elliott Yamin, Blake Lewis, Kimberly Caldwell, Mikalah Gordon, Julia Ara and more. For the telecast only, additional appearances will include performances by Donny and Marie Osmond, The Beach Boys performing Mike Love's new single "(You'll Never Be) Alone on Christmas Day," Jane Lynch, Kate Flannery and Tim Davis. The parade will also feature a special tribute for Toys for Tots from Ludacris and a magic performance by stars of The CW hit series, "Masters of Illusion." The 87th Annual Hollywood Christmas Parade will be hosted by Erik Estrada, Laura McKenzie, Dean Cain and Montel Williams, with special co-hosts Elizabeth Stanton and Garrett Clayton. Taped for network television, the live event will premiere as a two-hour special on The CW on Friday, December 14 at 8:00 p.m. ET / PT (7:00 p.m. CT).
