When people think of Donny and Marie Osmond, most will think of the old Donny and Marie TV show. They may think of "Puppy Love" or "Paper Roses." But, what they don't realize is that they continue to impress and wow audiences wherever they perform. At the Verizon Theatre in Dallas, Texas, the audience couldn't help but stand up and dance as they sang their hits and many other songs including Christmas songs to entertain. As the winds were kicking up outside, the warmth of the music warmed the audience. Donny and Marie Osmond, of the famed Osmond Family, blew the roof off with their brother-sister Vegas act with a twist of Christmas. Donny and Marie are travelling through the U.S. bringing their one of a kind show to many people. The show was complete with a full band and incredibly talented dancers to enhance the mood of the Vegas feel of the show.
As they hit the stage, the audience stood up clapping and dancing along with the beat of the Christmas songs. But, the music wasn't all Christmas. Donny and Marie sang their iconic songs including "Puppy Love," "Paper Roses" and "I'm a Little Bit Country, I'm a Little Bit Rock and Roll." As Donny performed on stage, no one would have known that a few short months ago he was recovering from a major injury that almost sidelined his career. He danced and sang like he did in his younger days and had the women swooning like they did was a teen. Donny shared a tribute to Andy Williams when he sang "Moon River" that brought tears to the audience. Marie showed the strong show quality voice she had and operatic training by singing a few classical songs, Broadway greats and Christmas music as well. Donny and Marie continue to improve with age and there is no slowing them down.
The brother-sister duo shared their usual banter onstage that had the audience laughing along too. And the concert was not confined to the stage either. Donny and Marie ventured out into the audience and sang up close and personal with many lucky fans as they walked up the aisles. Donny was bombarded by adoring middle-aged and older women who have followed their careers since the Andy Williams' days.
Sandy S. travelled all the way from Oregon to see her idols perform live. She has been to Vegas to see their show as well. Sandy said of the show, "Amazing, exciting, fun-filled Christmas show." Virginia F. of Fort Worth shared, "Very entertaining night." And Kyanne who lives in Gilmer said, "Was just incredibly entertaining and fun!"
