BRON announced today that Grammy-nominated producer/rapper El-P (of Run The Jewels) has signed on to compose the original score for the Al Capone bio-pic Fonzo, written and directed by Josh Trank (Chronicle). The film's cast includes Academy Award®nominee Tom Hardy, Linda Cardellini, Jack Lowden, Academy Award nominee Matt Dillon, and Golden Globe® winner Kyle MacLachlan.
States Trank, "Since I was fourteen years old, El-P's music has been one of the most important creative influences in my life. There's literally no greater honor for me than to collaborate with him today and bear witness to this next stage of his artistic journey." BRON Studios, in association with Creative Wealth Media are backing the film, which began principal photography April 2 in New Orleans. The producers are: Aaron L. Gilbert (Fences, Beatriz at Dinner, the upcoming Tully) for BRON, Russell Ackerman and John Schoenfelder (Hold the Dark, Tau) for Addictive Pictures, and Academy Award nominee Lawrence Bender (Inglorious Basterds, Good Will Hunting, Pulp Fiction) for A Band Apart, alongside executive producer Jason Cloth of Creative Wealth Media.
