Carner & Gregor's BARELY LEGAL SHOWTUNE EXTRAVAGANZA III is set for July 25th, and they're having a contest to find five college singers to perform in the show.
Over the past year, college students from around the country have sent in videos of their performances of Carner & Gregor songs, and the writers have been
overwhelmed by the talent of these young performers. Now, Carner & Gregor have created an opportunity for some of these talented performers to collaborate with them in person and share their work with a New York City audience at Drom, a hip new Lower East Side venue.
In addition to Carner & Gregor's work, this concert will also feature the work of Kleban and Ebb Award winner Pete Mills and will be directed by Marlo Hunter, founder of Eating Their Words and Literary Manager of the Women's Expressive Theatre.
To enter the contest, singers should submit a video of their performance of a Carner & Gregor song. The sheet music for six songs will be offered to contest entrants for free.
A panel of judges, which will be announced at a later date, will select 5 performers for the concert. Carner & Gregor will not participate in the judging portion of the contest. High School performers and College Graduates from
spring 2011 are also eligible for a limited number of slots in the show.
