Hot on the heels of "Under the Covers," the August installment of his EP-a-month project for 2013, Brooklyn singer-songwriter Avi Fox-Rosen will be performing live with his trio at Barbes in Park Slope on Tuesday, August 13th, at 7pm.
Avi, who first caught the attention of the New York Times when he performed with Mira Awad, was nominated for an Independent Music Award for Eclectic Album of the Year. He plays regularly in New York, and has toured nationally and internationally with Frank London, Pharoah's Daughter, Corn Mo's .357 Lover, Yiddish Princess, Daniel Kahn & the Painted Bird, Adrienne Cooper, Benjy Fox-Rosen, and many many more. He also provides original music for the Theater Productions of Jenny Romaine & Great Small Works; and Rima Fand & Erin Orr.
With the perfect mix of dedication and daftness, Avi Fox-Rosen, is releasing a brand new album of music every month during 2013. What better way to celebrate the dog days of summer than with an EP of songs about getting sweaty between the sheets? This EP, which picks up where his "Henry Mancini-style boudoir pop" of June's "Teen Angst" left off, marks a departure from the year's first 7 releases in that "Under The Covers" features all, er um, covers.
