Thrill to the music of the Big|Brave Band Era all the way to funk and rock classics of the 70s and 80s at Aurora Swing Nights: Rock the Depot concert on Thursday, June 18 at 8 p.m. A summertime tradition, this upbeat edition of the popular Swing Night concert series will feature a memorable array of rock 'n' roll songs that will allow every guest to groove to the beats of the past.
Aurora Swing Nights features the Metro Jazz Club, a smokin'-hot 17 piece band dedicated to the preservation of some of the best music ever composed. Led by jazz sax man Gary Dalton, Metro Jazz Club has two amazing vocalists, velvety crooner Jason Joines and zesty diva Amanda Richards. The concert event will also feature the remarkable Megan McFarland. Star of stage and screen, this Atlanta mainstay originated the role of Della in Della's Diner in 1978 at Atlanta's Showcase Cabaret. Also joining the band will be recording artist Eric Moore (Hands on a Hardbody), a soulful tenor whose voice will lift your spirit and take you back to the 70s in style. Both of these gifted vocalists will appear onstage in Aurora's 20th anniversary season debut Memphis, playing July 23- August 30.
Performed at one of the most spectacular event facilities in Gwinnett, 550 Trackside, this gorgeous setting built in 1904 contains granite walls, archways and original wood, all restored to their natural historic beauty. 550 Trackside is located just off the Lawrenceville Square, along the tracks, right across from the old Lawrenceville train depot. 550 Trackside offers patrons a full bar and parking is FREE.
