National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu has approved more than $80 million in grants as part of the NEA's second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2018. Included in this announcement is an Art Works grant to Arts Ed NJ, a coalition of all statewide stakeholders in arts education will use the $100,000 to support the expansion of the multi-year ARTS N*E*R*D NOW campaign. The Art Works category is the NEA's largest funding category and supports projects that focus on the creation of art that meets the highest standards of excellence, public engagement with diverse and excellent art, lifelong learning in the arts, and/or the strengthening of communities through the arts.

"The variety and quality of these projects speaks to the wealth of creativity and diversity in our country," said NEA Chairman Jane Chu. "Through the work of organizations such as Arts Ed NJ, NEA funding invests in local communities, helping people celebrate the arts wherever they are."

"The Board of Arts Ed NJ is thrilled that the NEA has validated our innovative work in arts education by awarding a second grant to our organization! We look forward to building upon the success of the Arts Ed Now campaign thanks to this generous award," stated Arts Ed NJ Board President Mary Reece.

ARTS N*E*R*D NOW is a statewide public action initiative of organizations dedicated to the goal of expanding access to, and participation in, quality arts education for all students throughout New Jersey. Current support comes from the NJ State Council on the Arts, the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, the Jay & Linda Grunin Foundation, and a partnership team including all major statewide arts and education organizations/associations. The NEA grant will support the fourth campaign phase of ARTS N*E*R*D NOW for the 2018/2019 school year. This phase will further empower local citizens with arts education data and local activation strategies, will expand statewide public awareness/support for arts education, and will implement arts education policies to achieve the campaign's goals.
