Artist Managers Paul Geary And Steve Wood Launch New Business Partnership As GLOBAL ARTIST MANAGEMENT Image

Veteran artist managers Paul Gearyand Steve Wood have partnered to form a new, full-service artist management company: Global Artist Management. The mission ofGlobal Artist Management is to creatively service their clients' complete needs in the ever-changing climate of the music business. The initial client roster for Global Artist Management is comprised of hard rock iconsGodsmack, Aerosmith guitar legend Joe Perry, multi-platinum hitmakers Hoobastank, rising rock stars Like A Storm and co-management of the supergroup Hollywood Vampires alongside management legend Shep Gordon. Hollywood Vampires features Joe Perry, Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper.

The 15-year business relationship between Geary and Wood started in 2002 at Geary's previous artist management company Paul Geary Management (PGM). However, their personal relationship had developed many years prior to that. Their initial meeting took place in the late 80's when Geary was the drummer in the multi-platinum selling rock band, Extreme, and Wood was a tour manager for hard rock icons, Cinderella. Geary joined Azoff Music Management in 2005 and subsequently formed a new division of the company called AGP (Azoff, Geary, Paul Management). In 2007, Wood became Director of Touring for the entire AGP roster including Smashing Pumpkins, Creed, New Kids On The Block, Godsmack and the touring production of hit television series "Glee," just to name a few.

In 2013, Geary left AGP to reform PGM and Wood followed as touring director for the company.

This year Geary and Wood launched the next chapter of their working relationship with the formation of Global Artist Management. What sets Global Artist Management apart is that it is run by a former multiplatinum artist and a veteran tour manager. This puts Geary and Wood in the unique position to empathize and communicate with the artists in ways that typical artist managers are much less equipped to do.

About Paul Geary:

Paul Geary grew up in Boston MA, and as a kid had been obsessed with the rock music of the 70's. He began playing drums in local groups as a teenager, and did so for several years around New England until finally forming his first commercially successful band called Extreme. From 1987 and 1994 Extreme managed to sell 10 million albums, receive a Grammy nomination for their now-classic #1 hit "More Than Words," andperform in over 35 countries under Geary's watch.

In 1994, Geary left Extreme and his career as a drummer to pursue a full-time profession in management. In 1995, Geary formed his first artist management company in Boston called PGM. One of Geary's first signings was at the time a little-known Boston bar band, Godsmack. Since signing their management agreement with PGM, Godsmack has sold over 20 million records, have had four Grammy nominations, worldwide headlining tours, and more top 10 Active Rock hits than any other group in the history of the format. Paul went on to manage the careers of a wide array of artists including Billy Ray Cyrus, Creed, Godsmack, Hoobastank, Joe Perry, Myles Kennedy, The Scorpions, Smashing Pumpkins and Steel Panther.

About Steve Wood:

Steve Wood began his long, illustrious career in the music business during the 1980's. It was during that time as an independent tour manager that he knew the music business would become his life's calling. Wood went on to work with various artists as a tour manager, including, Megadeth, Nine Inch Nails, Scorpions, Soundgarden, Cinderella, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, Bette Middler, Peter Frampton, Robert Plant, Dave Edmunds, Stone Temple Pilots and Audioslave. In 2002, Paul Geary was running his own artist management firm called Paul Geary Management (PGM), with a roster that included the multiplatinum rock group, Godsmack. Steve Wood came on board and took over the touring responsibilities for Godsmack. The two have been working closely together since.

Global Artist Management is based in Century City, and is rounded out by a formidable full-time team of dedicated professionals, prepared to lead their clients into the next generation.
