Apple Music's 'Up Next' artist showcase geared towards identifying and elevating rising global talent brings K-pop to the forefront with the announcement of the internationally-popular, Seoul-based unit NCT 127 as the first and only K-pop group to join the artist series. The SM Entertainment industry powerhouse- comprised of Taeyong, Taeil, Johnny, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Winwin, Mark, Haechan and newly-added Jungwoo - has had a steady presence across Apple Music and Beats 1 starting in 2016 with hits like "Fire Truck" and "Limitless" in 2017. Last year they debuted as Apple Music's first K-pop "New Artist of the Week" with their electrifying hit "Cherry Bomb." In March 2018, the band released a special choreography video of "Touch" exclusively on Apple Music that charted on Apple Music's Top 10 in the U.S. and across the globe.
"We've been on board with NCT 127 for a few years now across Apple, and are excited to welcome them as our newest Up Next artist, helping bring that K-Pop sound to the rest of the world," said Beats 1 On-Air host Ebro Darden. "It's a big day for us as we continue to spread love, music and unity across the globe through Apple Music."
"We are so excited and proud to be Apple Music's 'Up Next' artist this month (October)," said Johnny, NCT 127. Adding, "We've seen how instrumental this partnership has been, and we can't wait to share our music with more people!"
