Anemone Release New Song & Video For MEMORY LANE Image

In just under a month Montreal's dreamy psych-pop experts Anemone will release their debut album Beat My Distance. Out on February 15th it's a gorgeous debut from a band as impressive live as they are in the studio. Formed in Montreal, Anemone's sound is the culmination of epic late night jam sessions, combined with impeccable vintage instruments and force of nature lead singer and songwriter Chloé Soldevila. The album is an impressive body of work, with each song flawlessly giving way to the next.

Today Anemone have given another taste of what to expect with the new song and video for "Memory Lane". Directed by Laura-Lynn Petrick, Soldevila tells us "Memory Lane is reminiscent of one's unrepairable distance from another - the other not giving enough care to a mutual romance in an opportune time, causing both people to move on in separate directions. The outro of the song acts as a lullaby; a soothing, melodic repetition that breaths a fantasy of slowly building the inner-strength to accept that those memories can no longer be the future. Passionate events that once seemed stronger than anything slowly fade away as your inner strength grows ~ it is a powerful feeling."

She continues: "On the other hand, the music video is a magical friendship story which has outlived the song. My goal was to honour the joyous summer days I spend in the eastern townships of Quebec; one of the dearest, dreamiest places in my heart. It's the kind of place you go with your best friends and simply the feeling from being there is larger than life. We always have an epic time. I'm so glad to have met the director Laura-Lynn Petrick. What started with a small plan ended up being a real and blissful week - an adventure worthy of a road trip in Southern Italy, filled with loving encounters, morning swims, wine, and even a quick sea-doo and motorcycle ride. She has a special talent for bringing the best out of life; we didn't have to pretend to depict the joyous days, we actually lived them"

The song is off the heels of the gorgeously lush "She's The One" and "Sunshine (Back To The Start)," which was premiered by Flaunt Magazine. Keeping with the psych-odyssey-meets-jam-band-dream-world feel, you can also watch the video for "Daffodils" below which captures the true spirit of the band's energy.
