Andrew Bird adds new tour dates in February and March, further supporting his latest piece Echolocations: River (out now via Wegawam Music), with stops in Buffalo, NY, Roanoke, VA and at the iconic Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY among others. Tickets go on sale this Friday. These shows follow Bird's nearly sold-out Gezelligheid winter series, taking place in Chicago and debuting this year in Nashville. Of the seven December dates, limited tickets remain for December 8 in Nashville. Bird also adds a December 15 benefit show in Chicago for Foundations of Music, whose mission is to bring music to underserved Chicago neighborhoods where there are no music education programs. See below for a complete list of dates and for more info visit www.andrewbird.net.

A new video of Bird's earlier performance for Amnesty International and Sofar's "Give a Home" series debuts today and can be viewed/shared HERE. His eTown Session in Colorado is also airing this week-fans can listen on their local NPR affiliate station or online HERE.

Echolocations: River was recorded ankle deep in the Los Angeles River under The Hyperion Bridge. The instrumental release is the second in a series of short films and recordings documenting site-specific compositions. Performed by Bird and filmed by Tyler Manson in remote and acoustically unique environments, the first installment, Echolocations: Canyon, was released in 2015. For River, All Things Go praises Bird's "innate ability to bridge our dimension with the ethereal." See a video for Echolocations: River HERE.

Chicago-born, LA-based film score composer, multi-instrumentalist and lyricist, Andrew Bird picked up his first violin at the age of four and spent his formative years soaking up classical repertoire completely by ear. As a teen Bird became interested in a variety of styles including early jazz, country blues and gypsy music, synthesizing them into his unique brand of pop. Since beginning his recording career in 1997, he has released 13 albums, his previous being Are You Serious (2016), of which NPR proclaimed, "[Bird's] writing keeps sounding warmer, sweeter, more thoughtful and approachable, while continuing to land lines that stick with you for days."

Bird's Facebook Live series "Live from the Great Room" is ongoing and streams live from his living room, putting the creative process on display for fans as he performs and converses with friends and collaborators in a candid, intimate setting. Paper hails the series as "compelling as f" and "delightful," while Nerdist praises the "always beautifully done live concerts." Previous guests include Fiona Apple, Matt Berninger of The National, Jim James of My Morning Jacket, Lucius, Tift Merritt, Dawes, Esperanza Spalding, Jackson Browne, Theaster Gates, Jimbo Mathus of the Squirrel Nut Zippers, Dan Wilson, Chris Thile, Blake Mills, John C. Reilly and Tom Brosseau.
