Alt/Pop Songstress Josephina Releases 'Pleasure & Pain'

Alt-pop singer/songwriter, Josephina, releases the official music video and audio for her new song "Pleasure and Pain" today - watch HERE; listen on Spotify / iTunes worldwide (links below). The track was co-written by Josephina and GRAMMY-nominated songwriter and producer Steve Daly, who has previously worked with Pink, Christina Aguilera, and Charlie Wilson. Daly also produced the song. The trippy visual for "Pleasure and Pain" showcases Josephina's dark pop style. Alluring and transfixing, the video follows the cryptic dissolution of the songstress' relationship as her romance slowly fizzles out. Dreamy clips of Josephina and her love interest are weaved between edgy, hypnotic shots of the singer on her own, as she experiences the ups and downs of her relationship.

The song is an intense piece of pop laced with beautifully detailed lyrics that showcase her captivating vocals. "It's a breakup song but it's about the yin and yang, the happiness and the sadness of the relationship," says Josephina. "I believe in telling the whole story of whatever's affecting me, whether it's positive or negative, and trying to find those moments that people can genuinely connect with." The song "Pleasure and Pain" gives listeners a taste of what's to come. Her debut EP, out early 2018, features Josephina's original songwriting, and intertwines in elements of electronic music, hip-hop, and R&B with her alt-pop sound.

About Josephina: Josephina is an alt-pop singer living in Los Angeles, CA. Growing up in Virginia Beach, raised by a Cuban mother and British father, Josephina discovered her passion for music as a little kid. At age 16, she took her singing talents to social media, partly inspired by a previous fascination with YouTube cover artists. Soon after she'd begun posting her covers of tracks by artists like Frank Ocean and Foster the People, Josephina gained a major following, and eventually earned the attention of management and production companies across the country. Her debut single and video "Woosah" was released in September, and premiered in Atwood Magazine. Josephina's six-track debut EP, which combines her playful lyricism with an electro pop sensibility, is slated for an early 2018 release.
