The New York Post's Page Six reports that Alexa Ray Joel, daughter of legendary artist Billy Joel, collapsed while performing at her her sold-out closing-night show at New York's Café Carlyle on Saturday night, April 12th.

The 28-year-old was rushed to New York Presbyterian Hospital Emergency Room, where she was diagnosed with Vasovagal Syncope, one of the most common causes of fainting which requires no treatment. According to the report, the singer-songwriter shared with the audience that she had not been feeling well but didn't want to disappoint her fans.

In a statment released today, Joel said: "I wanted to thank everyone for coming out to support me. I was excited and determined to fulfill my final performance and I really wanted to end my run with a bang, but this was not what I had in mind and hope I have the opportunity to make it up to the wonderful audience very soon. Thanks for all the concern.

Alexa Ray is the daughter of Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley. She was just completing her two-week successful run at Cafe Carlyle.
