Adam Cola Steps Out with New Single BE FREE Today, February 9

Pop music is often built on personas--stage names, alternate identities, faces hidden behind hair, helmets, makeup or masks. Sometimes, the artist's mission is to hide his or her true self behind a haze of mystery. That's not the case with ADAM COLA who's gearing up for the release of his debut album FLESH.BLOOD.LOVE this spring. With album track "Be Free" out today (February 9), the Montreal-born, Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter and entertainer promotes his mantra of being free and uninhibited, of being proud and embracing your true self.

"I don't follow any guidelines myself and am not trying to be anything other than who I am," says COLA of the song produced and co-written by Los Angeles production crew NO DAYZ OFF (Rellevant, Donye'a G, and Desmond Cope). "We all feel vulnerable sometimes, but we need to realize the things that make us different are the things that are most beautiful." That individual beauty is one of the many things to celebrate while getting lost in a dizzying, euphoric dance thanks to the track's energetic and vibrant beat.
Connecting the lyrics with a visual component is the "Be Free" video, created by fellow Canadian visual artist Natalie Cusson of Scooter Film & Design. Taking COLA's party lyrics into throwback mode, Cusson utilized vintage analog computer animation system Scanimate which was used to produce much of the video-based animation seen on TV in the 1970s & 80s for commercials and show openings and utilized by French pop duo, Daft Punk.
