Aaron Tippin, Collin Raye & Kentucky Headhunters to Play Wagon Wheel Theatre, 5/9

On Friday, May 9th the Wagon Wheel Theatre hosts three of country music's hit makers. In fact, Aaron Tippin, Collin Raye, and the Kentucky Headhunters collectively charted over 100 Billboard Hot Country Songs, including seven number one hits and multiple Grammy and ACM awards. The event is called "An Acoustic Evening with Aaron Tippin, Collin Raye, and The Kentucky Headhunters" and all three will perform two shows, 7pm and 9:30pm.

Aaron Tippin has crusaded for the working man and woman since he ripped country music wide open in 1990 with his uncompromising "You've Got to Stand for Something." On the strength of that song, comedian Bob Hope invited Tippin to appear with him when he toured the Mideast to entertain the troops of Desert Storm. Tippin has been a favorite of-and a standby for-America's fighting forces ever since.

In the years that followed, Tippin's voice continued to ring loud and clear with such hits as "I Wouldn't Have It Any Other Way," "There Ain't Nothin' Wrong With The Radio', "My Blue Angel," "Working Man's Ph. D.," "The Call Of The Wild," "I Got it Honest," "That's as Close as I'll Get to Loving You," "For You I Will," and "Kiss This." Tippin's honest lyrics and direct, impassioned vocals have built a large and devoted audience.

Collin Raye was one of the true hit makers of the 1990's. Collin still continues to crank out soulful, heartfelt material with the honesty and richness that is signature to his vocals, making him one of the greatest vocalists of our time. The man who has topped the charts with such great songs as "On the Verge," "One Boy, One Girl," "What the Heart Wants," "Every Second" and "That Was a River."

The Kentucky Headhunters have released seven studio albums, two compilations, and twenty singles, of which the highest-peaking is a cover of the Don Gibson song "Oh Lonesome Me," which the band took to number 8 in 1990. In addition, the band has won three Country Music Association awards, an Academy of Country Music award and a Grammy Award for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, won in 1990 for Pickin' on Nashville. The musicians are accompanied by only a guitar and a love for what they do, "Pickin' and a grinnin'"
