R&B and Soul legend, Aaron Neville, brings his renowned voice and his years of experience to the Van Wezel. He will be accompanied by the incredible Dirty Dozen Brass Band on March 13, 2014. This powerful combination of New Orleans iconic musicians will make for a night of soul awakening funky musical melodies.

Aaron Neville's incredible career includes his solo work and his role in the first family of New Orleans music, the Neville Brothers. His first hit single, "Tell It Like It Is," sold over one million copies and held the number one spot on the R&B charts for five weeks in 1967. From there, he went on to win Grammy Awards for his triple-platinum collaboration, with Linda Ronstadt in 1967. Throughout the decades, Neville's achievements and success have continued to grow while his distinctive voice remains pitch-perfect. In 2012, Blue Note Records released Neville's My True Story, an album which revisits the music that he grew up on, featuring twelve classic doo-wop numbers. Neville explained that the album was "extra meaningful" due to his personal life having new beginnings. He relocated to New York City after losing his home to Hurricane Katrina and recently remarried after losing his first wife to cancer.

In addition to the sensational Aaron Neville, the acclaimed Dirty Dozen Brass Band, established in 1977, bring their own energy and soul to the Van Wezel stage. Rodger Lewis the Baritone Sax player for the band describes the group as "...a big old musical gumbo."

With this show-stopping combination of musical talent, prepare for an unforgettable evening of New Orleans culture, soulful music and a phenomenal performance!

Tickets are priced from $45-$70. For more information, call the Box Office at 941-953-3368 or visit www.VanWezel.org.
