Fresh off their packed LA record release show at The Regent, Automatic (Izzy Glaudini, Lola Dompé, Halle Saxon) have announced their first headlining North American tour in support of their acclaimed new album Excess.

The band will cross the states for a NYC performance at Rough Trade's Indieplaza Festival, before heading back to Los Angeles to open for Bauhaus at the iconic The Greek Theatre. From there they hit Desert Daze and carry on to headline Brooklyn's Market Hotel, Chicago's Empty Bottle followed by Toronto, Montreal, Nashville and Levitation festival in Austin.

Tickets are on sale this Wednesday at 10AM local - purchase here. For a full list of dates, see below and check for updates via Automatic's Instagram here.

On Excess, Automatic masterfully synthesize a new strain of retrofuturist motorik pop. The album rides the imaginary edge where the '70s underground met the corporate culture of the '80s - "That fleeting moment when what was once cool quickly turned and became mainstream all for the sake of consumerism."

This becomes the starting point for an exploration into the consequences of such excess - namely, the fact that Gen Z will inherit the world at the eleventh hour. Combining its urgent message with catchy pop hooks, Excess is tight and punchy: danceable music for the end of days.

Today, they've shared a new video for Excess' immediate track, "Automaton." Of the track, Automatic explains "Automaton is about having to deprogram yourself from capitalist ways of thinking, but, of course, we framed the song in our sci-fi theme - with an actual automaton as protagonist." The band's accompanied video, created by Yana Pan and Jenny Nirgends, uses paper cut animations to illustrate one automaton's journey to break from the pack and create something new.
