NYC songwriting team William Waldrop and Robert Williamson will make their cabaret debut at the legendary Duplex Cabaret Theatre. Popular nightlife entertainer and drag-diva Marti Gould Cummings will host the evening of original music from the up-and-coming musical theatre duo.

The 90-minute show is scheduled for Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 6:30PM at the famed Greenwich Village venue. Slated to perform the original Waldrop and Williamson music will be singers from Broadway, Off-Broadway and the NYC nightlife scene. To make reservations go to www.theduplex.com; there is a $10 cover charge and a 2-drink minimum for the show.

Show attendees can expect to hear songs by this dynamic writing team written during their now three-year collaboration, including cabaret songs and selections from their first musical Pandemic! A Killer Flu-sical. There will also be songs from musicals currently in development: Red Rover, Oktosha: A Legend and Idol!.

Performers for the evening’s program will include Elsa Carmona (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Nick Dalton (Legally Blonde, Hairspray), Christina DeCicco (upcoming Evita, Sister Act), Cara Michelle Fish (Cats), Lisa Karlin (The Addams Family, Ragtime), Neva Rae Powers (King of Hearts, Peter Pan, Little Women), Marissa Rosen (My Big Gay Italian Wedding), Johnny Stellard (upcoming Evita) and Mary Elizabeth Sweeney.

Waldrop and Williamson will also perform during the evening and Marti Gould Cummings will sing his recently released single Real Girl, written by the team. Waldrop (Associate Conductor, upcoming Evita) serves as the evening’s musical director and will be joined by Mairi Dorman-Phaneuf on cello.

Waldrop and Williamson began writing together while working on the national tour of Cats. Their first musical Pandemic! A Killer Flu-sical premiered in June 2011 at the Las Vegas Fringe Festival. Their songs have been heard in cabarets and benefits in cities across the country including New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Chicago and Pittsburgh.
