And the legacy is still strong thanks to Arrival, an ABBA tribute band from the original group's native land of Sweden. Arrival has extended the passion and happiness of the ABBA sounds for the past two decades. The SCERA Center for the Arts will bring the four leads, a live band and 12 entertainers to the SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre in Orem (699 South State in SCERA Park) as the closing concert of their 2015 summer under the stars.
Arrival will perform Labor Day, Sept. 7 at 8:00pm. General admission tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children (age 3-11) and seniors (age 65+). Patrons can bring a blanket or rent a chair for $1.00 (limited quantities available). Tickets are available at www.scera.org, by calling 801-225-ARTS, in person at the SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 S. State St. in Orem, or at the gate 90 minutes prior to performance.
It's easy to document that Arrival is the world's biggest ABBA tribute show. Since its formation in 1995, it has performed for 38 sold out tours in North America, toured 48 nations, and have been special guest with prestigious symphonies and orchestras across the country and world.
Arrival's "Music of Abba" song and dance spectacular is the only show in the world with exclusive rights to identically recreate exact versions of ABBA's original clothing from Owe Sandstrom, who originally created and designed all of ABBA's signature costumes. It is the only group that has been given a song directly from ABBA and is the only tribute group with a registered trademark that includes the name ABBA in its production name.
"This concert is so much fun," says Adam Robertson, SCERA's President & CEO. "This is a return engagement, because people love this group so much. You get to hear all those 70's big hits of ABBA - it's pretty much a pop music party. It's no wonder so many critics call this the greatest ABBA tribute band ever."
Expect to hear such songs as "Dancing Queen," "Mama Mia," "Money, Money, Money," and, of course, the original group's signature number, "Waterloo." Arrival has mastered the sound of ABBA so well, a test on Swedish national radio featured Arrival singing "Dancing Queen," and the singers fooled even the biggest ABBA fans.
