A Weekend of Folk/Roots/Americana Music at Hudson Valley Resort and Spa Image

Enjoy a weekend of folk music, old and new, and friends, old and new, at the Hudson Valley Resort and Spa in Kerhonkson, NY. Sing, jam, relax, swap songs, learn new songs, acquire new musical skills, and listen to and/or play with other musicians. All levels of musical ability are welcome! The weekend features some of the today's finest Folk/Roots musicians, who will perform and present workshops. There is also plenty of opportunity for informal music making, socializing, hiking, and kicking back with friendly, interesting folks in a luxurious setting, with comfortable rooms, good food, and resort facilities close at hand.

Featured performers are:
The Johnson Girls have been a force on the folk and maritime music scene for over two decades as the leading all-woman, a cappella maritime group in the world.
Skip Gorman: Through his music, Skip Gorman brings the workaday world of the cowboys of the back to life.
Larry Kaplan has penned some of the best contemporary ballads; his compositions are respectful of tradition, honest, and highly singable.
Chis Koldeway: There will be dancing, and the multi-talented Chris Koldeway will be organizing and leading both the dancing and the dance band. All levels are welcome.
Kate MacLeod, who plays the fiddle and sings with a hauntingly pure voice, is a musician of many genres but firmly rooted in Americana folk.

Located near New Paltz, the Hudson Valley Resort and Spa is nestled amid the beautiful Shawangunk Mountains. Enjoy good food, newly renovated rooms, tennis, golf, table tennis, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and more. Special discounts are offered for first-time participants. A transportation coordinator helps to arrange rides to the weekend. Participants are encouraged to stay at the hotel, but day admission is also available. More information and a reservation form are available on-line at www.folkmusicny.org or reservations may be made online directly at http://fallweekend.eventbrite.com.
