The City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, Pershing Square announces the selection of 88.5 FM as the newradio title sponsor for their 10th annual Downtown Stage Summer Concert series.

Set to kick off July 14, the six-week free Saturday night concert series, a Los Angeles staple since 2007, features a carefully curated selection of live music showcased on an immense 70 foot stage with state of the art lighting and sound set against the downtown L.A. skyline.

For ten years, Pershing Square has been the site of well attended free shows featuring such artists like: The Wallflowers, B52's, Los Lonely Boys, Survivor, The Jay Hawks, Kansas, Toad The Wet Sprocket, America, 10,000 Maniacs, Bright Light Social Hour, WAR and other national and emerging bands. The selection of 88.5-FM is another feather in the cap of this emerging station.

Louise Capone, Senior II Recreation Director and Executive Producer for Pershing Square "When looking for a new radio station to join the Pershing Square team, we wanted a station that fit our audience of Baby Boomers, Gen X&Y, and Millennials. 88.5 is a station that plays a variety of both legacy and contemporary artist, has the samecommunity goals as the Department of Recreation and Parks and whose staff knows how to transmit the art of radio. Pershing Square is very excited to have The New 88.5 as a presenting sponsor for the Downtown Stage ten year anniversary concert series"

"88.5-FM's enhanced signal footprint coupled with the dissolution of 100.3 The Sound, has created a natural transition for 88.5FM to fill a gaping music void left in the greater Southern California region," says Bonnie Marquez, Director of Marketing, Events & Engagement,88.5 FM. "We're really looking forward to this opportunity to deliver another live music experience to our listeners and to engage new fans along the way."

The Pershing Square Summer Series will announce its full line up in the coming weeks.
