88.5 FM Returns To Annual SXSW Music Festival For Sixth Year  Image

For the sixth consecutive year, 88.5 FM will host SXSW Radio Day Stage performances at the annual SXSW Music Festival with sets from Field Report, Mt. Joy, Courtney Marie Andrews, Frank Turner, Kyle Craft, and Gordi. Set for Thursday, March 15 at theAustin Convention Center in Ballroom D, the live performancesare open to all SXSW badge holders and will be broadcast live on the air at 88.5 FM and at 885fm.org. Field Report will kick off more than six hours of live music beginning at12 Noon (CT)/10:00 AM (PT), with Gordi wrapping the day with a 5:00 PM performance.

88.5 FM SXSW Radio Day Stage schedule is as follows (all times Central):

Noon: Field Report

1:00 PM: Mt. Joy

2:00 PM: Courtney Marie Andrews

3:00 PM: Frank Turner

4:00 PM: Kyle Craft

5:00 PM: Gordi

This marks the first SXSW showcase since The 88.5 FM's signal expansion in late 2017. The combined signal reach of KCSN-FM (California State University, Northridge) and KSBR-FM (Saddleback College in Mission Viejo) now providesprogramming to a potential audience of 11.5 million listeners from Santa Clarita to San Clemente, a huge boost from the two stations' previous combined reach of 2 million. The station is also streaming online.

Prior to the expansion, KCSN has been a favorite among the music community with artists including Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Jackson Browne, Sting, Bonnie Raitt, Stephen Stills, Lucinda Williams, Sheryl Crow, Conor Oberst, Ryan Adams and Sarah McLachlan all playing benefit shows in support of their mission to provide quality music programming to the Los Angeles area. The station is home to on-air hosts Nic Harcourt, Garrison West, Jim Nelson, Sky Daniels, Mimi Chen, AJ, Harry Shearer, Robert Hilburn and Kevin Bronson. It also broadcasts popular music shows such as World Cafe, Saturday With The Beatles, The Dylan Hour, The 80s Experience and Acoustic Cafe.

88.5 FM offers a 24-hour, commercial-free blend of rock, alternative, soul, blues and Americana as a service of California State University, Northridge and Saddleback College, Mission Viejo. It features a wide range of artists such as U2, Bruce Springsteen, Jack White, Arcade Fire, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Alabama Shakes, The War On Drugs, The National, Sheryl Crow, Bob Marley, and David Bowie. The station's AAA programming is also available on KCSN and KSBR 88.5 HD1 channel, via the 88.5FM app, and online at www.885FM.org.
