Following a massively successful event in 2014, together with Retox Sessions and Contango, 808 Festival is proud to announce its return on Wednesday December 9th, 2015. The event will once again take place at the BITEC Convention Centre in Bangkok, Thailand with doors opening at 5pm. Last year saw 808 Festival in Thailand expand to include the addition of a second stage and a lineup that included more underground music, and the event returns this year with the same format but boasting a star-studded lineup that is jam-packed with Grammy nominated producers and the electronic dance music industry's biggest DJs.

The 808 Arena is the event's main stage that is dedicated to EDM and boasts a lineup that is massively bigger than it's ever seen before. On the bill are some of EDM's heaviest hitters, including Grammy nominated Armin van Buuren, Axwell ? Ingrosso who make up two thirds of the now defunct Swedish House Mafia and Oliver Heldens. The lineup will be added to in the coming weeks.

The Sunn Arena, previously the Retox Area, is 808 Festival's exclusive underground dance music concept stage. Some of the most exciting names from around the world are slated to play this year, including Ibiza resident Jamie Jones as well as Dirtybird Records label boss Claude VonStroke. Additions to the lineup will also be made in the coming weeks.

For only its third year, the unveiling of such a prolific lineup signifies that 808 Festival has undoubtedly become the largest and most diverse one-day festival in Thailand, marking a progression in Thailand's dance music community and putting it on the map as a destination for music lovers in the region.

Tickets are now available for purchase on the official website for ?2,500. They can also be purchased in conjunction with tickets for a TBA show on the 29th of December for ?4,600. Both events are for ages 20+.

808 ARENA

ARMIN VAN BUUREN is a DJ who needs little introduction. The Grammy-nominated DJ has been championing the global dance music scene for more than two decades and has spent five cycles in the number one position of DJ Mag's illustrious Top 100 DJ poll as well as receiving a groundbreaking number of other various accolades. He placed fourth in the 2015 poll. Although the name Armin van Buuren is synonymous with trance music, which is defined by his legendary long running radio show A State Of Trance, his ability to evolve and adapt his style with changing trends makes him one of the most influential figures in EDM while remaining a purveyor of trance music. The performance energy that the Dutch DJ brings to an event is extraordinary and unparalleled which makes him one of the most exciting additions to the lineup of 808 Festival.

After Grammy-nominated Swedish House Mafia disbanded in 2013, there were many sad souls left around the world but two of the group's former members are doing a very good job of filling the void. It didn't take a lot of time for AXWELL ? INGROSSO to surpass the celebrity status of their former supergroup and now the two Swedish childhood friends have emerged with their own sound that's driving them even further into the mainstream. Not only do they belong to Def Jam alongside artists like Kanye West but they're also headlining nearly every festival on the circuit that fits into their hectic schedule, from Ultra to Coachella to everything in between. They also placed 17th on this year's DJ Mag Top 100 DJ poll. Their live performances are frenzy inducing and designed to stimulate all the senses and to share a stage at 808 Festival with Armin van Buren is going to evoke goose bumps in fans in Bangkok.

OLIVER HELDENS is relentless. He's got the advantage of age and that fuels a kind of energy that is long gone in the big guns. He's put out more singles in his short career than many DJs have in a lifetime. Perhaps it's his Dutch background but more likely it's his raw talent that piqued the ears of Tie?sto and at the ripe age of 17 he was signed to the superstar's label Musical Freedom and just like that he became his prodigy. His single Gecko was deemed an Essential New Tune by Pete Tong in 2014 and with that he cemented himself as a serious artist well on his way to becoming an leader, mover and shaker of the EDM industry. This year also saw the young artist jump 22 spots to number 17 on DJ Mag's Top 100 DJ poll, far exceeding many of his established and veteran counterparts.

SUNN ARENA

When it comes to the majestic island of Ibiza, Jamie Jones is the headliner that is synonymous with the White Isle. He is one of the island's most prolific mainstays and whether it's sunset or sunrise sets, or both, you will find him firmly rooted there every summer season playing with artists like Seth Troxler and The Martinez Brothers. His career spans over a decade and already the Welsh DJ has managed to achieve what every DJ sets out to do from scoring a recurring Ibiza residency called Paradise at DC-10, relishing the reign of being hailed the number one DJ in the world by Resident Advisor in 2011, overseeing the illustrious Hot Creations record label or just being an all around chill guy.

Just saying the name CLAUDE VONSTROKE gets the party started. Known for being an advocate of a downright good time, Claude VonStroke and his Dirtybird label mates take their music and their parties to the next level. If you're lucky enough to be in attendance at one his famous Dirtybird BBQs, campouts or even if it's just a tightknit basement after-party, the Detroit native but California based DJ brings the bass. His unique perspective on music means he cracks tunes that defy genres and blend together instead with one objective in mind - to get people to put their hands up and dance. Long before breaking through in their own respective hometowns, his ear was responsible for a lot of the music put out by Justin Martin, Julio Bashmore, Catz 'n Dogz, Riva Starr, Tim Green, Breach, Eats Everything, Maetrik, Italoboyz, Justin Jay, and Shiba San. More good guy points - both his Dirtybird and Mothership labels donate 10% of all profits to a children's music school in Detroit. Expect Claude Von Stroke to bring the bass, and a lot of it, and shake things up over at the Sunn Arena of 808 Festival.
