40th Annual Jazz Record Collectors' Bash Set for 6/27-28

40th Annual Jazz Record Collectors' Bash will be held the weekend of June 27th - 28th, 2014.

General admission: $20.00 covers buyer's admission for two days (Friday & Saturday). After 5:00 p.m. Friday (including Saturday reentry) and all day Saturday admission is $10.00. Early buyers will be admitted Thursday evening after 7:30 pm for $40.00.

Doors open 8:00 a.m. on Friday & Saturday.

Rare vintage videos each day: Admission free with Bash admission or $5 for each film show only.

Friday: (4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m)

Ron Hutchinson, co-founder of The Vitaphone Project, will present a largely previously unseen collection of early sound jazz and vaudeville short subjects. Ron will be showing a new batch of rare 1929-38 musical British Pathetone talkie shorts and more early sound Vitaphone vaudeville, comedy and band shorts.

Saturday (8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.)

Jazz collector and film historian David Weiner will present two hours of rare film and TV clips, showcasing jazz and pop artists of the 1920s through the 1960s. Among the featured performers will be soloists Duke Ellington, Benny Carter, Tommy & Jimmy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Bobby Hackett, Red Nichols, Rex Stewart, Joe Venuti, Thelonious Monk, Louis Armstrong, Earl Hines, Slim Gaillard, Slam Stewart, Buddy Tate, Eddie Shu, Benny Goodman and Buddy Rich; the big bands of Harry James, Vincent Lopez, and Roy Fox; and vocalists Adelaide Hall, Jean Sablon, Lee Wiley, the Mills Brothers and Jimmy Durante. Plus vintage cartoons and jitterbug dancing!

Vendor space: All tables are 6 ft x 3 ft. Cost in advance is $75.00 per table for 2 days, $50 for Friday only or $35 for Saturday only. A 50 percent deposit is required. On or after June 26th, cost will be $85.00 per table (for 2 days) on a space available basis. Dealer Setup: Dealers may set up on Thursday night after 7:30 pm. The room will not be available prior to that hour.

Transportation: By car: Hotel is immediately off Garden State Parkway exit 131A. By public transportation: NJ Transit (NEC line) to Metropark Station from Penn Station (New York), Newark Liberty International Airport and Trenton. From Philadelphia 30th Street Station, take SEPTA to Trenton and transfer to NJ Transit.
