Fans of the 1960's British rock band, the Beatles, will be excited to hear that the newly formed touring band, 4 Lads from Liverpool, a musical tribute to the Beatles, is performing At The Grove Theatre on New Years' Eve at 9:00 pm. 4 Lads from Liverpool, premiered in San Francisco in October. This new band, based in Los Angeles, is made up of seasoned tribute Beatles performers, many of whom have been playing as one of the Fab Four for many years.

What sets this musical performance apart is that 4 Lads from Liverpool includes songs from each of their major musical periods, and opens with a set of songs from the early Hamburg days with the Beatles dressed in their black leather jackets and pants. John (Peter George) sings lead on the opening song, "Rock and Roll Music" wearing a toilet seat around his head! They show fantastic clips from the old 60s shows and commercials to set the mood when they transition from one period to another and also during most of their songs as well. Each significant phase in the Beatles career is accompanied by a costume change.

They go from Hamburg to the Cavern Club in Liverpool, then to a set from their first time on the Ed Sullivan show where they performed "All My Loving", "I Want to Hold your Hand" and "Twist and Shout". They then do numbers from their Shea Stadium concert. Highlights include the Sergeant Pepper's set and the rarely performed in concert "Day in the Life", Peter George as John who comes alive with "Come Together", Jimmy Pou who delivers an enthralling guitar solo and lead vocals on "My Guitar Gently Weeps" and Jon Perry as Paul who rocks out during "Get Back".

Beatles fans of all ages will enjoy singing along to live versions of songs many of us know by heart but probably never had the chance to hear performed by the original group. This is sure to be an evening to be remembered, and a great way to close out 2011 and bring in 2012.
