San Antonio, Texas -- The Texas Talent Musicians Association (TTMA), producers of the 34th Annual Tejano Music Awards (TMA's), have announced Saturday, September 20, 2014 as the official date for this year's awards show. This will mark its 34th year as the only major and longest-running event to recognize the Tejano music genre.
This year, the
Lila Cockrell Theatre will be the stage where fans can expect a spectacular show that promises many surprises, exciting musical collaborations, and of course recognition of Tejano's best and brightest stars.
This year's Special Lifetime Achievement Award honorees include Jimmy Edward, from the original Latin Breed and
Bobby Butler aka "El Charro Negro", from Tortilla Factory. Both gentlemen are considered musical trendsetters for their originality that spearheaded the growth of Tejano Music in the 1970s.
Artists scheduled to perform Elida y Avante, Emilio Navaira, Shelly Lares, Solido, David Marez, Los Desperadoz, Stephanie Lynn, Jaime y Los Chamacos, Ricardo Castillon y La Diferencia, Stefani Montiel, Sunny Sauceda, Lucky Joe, Eddie Gonzalez, Dj Kane & Ricky Rick y Stereo Kumbia, Tortilla
Factory and a special performance from the Netherlands Dwayne Verheyden and many more artists to be announced.
