The 2018 Mizzou International Composers Festival (MICF) will be held Monday, July 23 through Saturday, July 28, featuring three concerts of new music presented at the Missouri Theatre, 203 South 9th Street in Columbia:
Alarm Will Sound

The festival's resident ensemble Alarm Will Sound will perform music by 2018 MICF distinguished guest composers Chen Yi and Alex Mincek, plus a work by Stefan Freund and Matt Marks, and more.
Mizzou New Music
7:30 p.m. Friday, July 27
Friday night's concert showcases the Mizzou New Music Ensemble, the flagship group of the Mizzou New Music Initiative, performing music from distinguished guest composers Chen Yi and Alex Mincek. In addition, the Missouri Clarinet Quintet, featuring Mizzou students and faculty members, will perform works by Mizzou composers Stefan Freund, Carolina Heredia, and Aaron Mencher.
Seven World Premieres performed by Alarm Will Sound

More than 250 composers from around the world submitted their portfolios to the festival, and seven were selected. The grand finale concert features the world premieres of seven works composed specifically for the acclaimed new music ensemble Alarm Will Sound by the festival's resident composers:
Festival passes good for admission to all three concerts are on sale for $80 for the VIP package, which includes reserved premium seating and other benefits; $40 for adults; and $20 for students.
