Robert Downey Jr. Picks Up Episode of the UK's BLACK MIRROR for Film Adaptation

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. is set to give the UK series BLACK MIRROR the big-screen treatment. The studio has picked up the rights to one of the show's episodes along with Robert Downey Jr. and his Team Downey studio.

The episode tapped for adaptation is "The Entire History of You," which follows a man whose brain implant allows him to rewatch his entire life. Eventually, he begins to grow suspicious of his wife, believing she's having an affiar. His obsession to find the evidence through their past experiences eventually ruins their relationship. Jesse Armstrong, who penned the episode, will also write the film's script.

The Hollywood Reporter confirms the studios are using the episode's premise as a "jumping off point," and that the film will be set in the near future. They also confirm that Downey is not expected to star at this point.

Downey Jr. is best known for his work in film, including the IRON MAN series and THE AVENGERS. He has also previously starred in the recent THE SHERLOCK HOLMES franchise; GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK; KISS KISS BANG BANG; and many more.

He can next be seen in IRON MAN 3, set to hit theaters on May 3.
