Golden Globe winner, Ms. Tippi Hedren and "The Birds" co-star Veronica Cartwright answered questions regarding the production and their careers beyond that of the Hitchcock master thriller. While "The Birds" was Miss Hedren's breakout film, Ms. Cartwright had already established herself as working actress on both television and the big screen by the age of 13, most noteably having appeared opposite Audrey Hepburn and Shirley MacLaine in "The Children's Hour." Cartwright continued with noted performances in such classics as "Alien," "Invasion of The Body Snatchers" and "Witches of Eastwick." Her impressive list of recent television credits include The X-Files, Will & Grace, CSI, and Drop Dead Diva.
Ms. Hedren, whose experience with the famed director has recently come into the forefront with the HBO multiple Golden Globe nominated release of "The Girl," depicting her battle over sexual harassment by an obsessed Hitchcock, remarked only that "He may have destroyed my career, but not my life." Feelings of respect and admiration poured out from the audience as they listened to how this legendary lady never gave up. Ms. Hedren hopes that the film will inspire young women across the country to stand up to their oppressors. Ms. Hedren has used her celebrity from films such as "The Birds," "Marnie" and Charlie Chaplin's "Countess of Hong Kong," to make a difference in the world. She has helped immigrants find work in the U.S. (becoming the godmother of the Vietnamese nail industry), as well as her now famous efforts on behalf of domestically born exotic felines at the Shambala Preserve and the safety legislation she has introduced before congress to protect them and the public. Ms. Hedren continues to work in teleVision Productions such as 4400, CSI, Raising Hope and Cougar Town, as well as 40 films along side and opposite industry greats such as Marlon Brando, Sophia Loren, Dustin Hoffman, Lily Tomlin, Jude Law and her own daughter, academy award nominated, Melanie Griffith. When asked, "Whats next?," the matriarch of family entertainment dynasty says, "I'd like to do a project with my grand daughter, Dakota (of the hit series Ben & Kate)."
