Joseph Gordon-Levitt may not be shrinking down for the big-budget ANT-MAN film, after all.
Following numerous reports yesterday that the acclaimed actor was in the running for the title role in Edgar Wright's upcoming movie following Henry Pym, the scientist who manages to create a substance that allows him to alter his size, Gordon-Levitt has squashed the rumors.
In an interview today with AlloCine, he said: "There are always rumors. I communicate a lot [on] my future projects, so if you have not heard me talk about it, this is just a rumor."
Gordon-Levitt also confirmed that any rumors about him meeting with Marvel execs are "false."
Reports also suggested that Paul Rudd was being courted for the role.
Gordon-Levitt is known for his roles in the films Angels in the Outfield, Beethoven, and 10 Things I Hate About You, and as Tommy Solomon in the TV series 3rd Rock from the Sun.
He has also starred in (500) Days of Summer, Inception, 50/50, Premium Rush, and Looper, and also appeared in The Dark Knight Rises, The Lookout, Manic, Lincoln, Mysterious Skin, Brick, and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. In 2013, he will star in the comedy film Don Jon, which he also wrote and directed. He founded the online production company hitRECord in 2004.
