The Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey Changes the Way Art is Experienced in its Upcoming Exhibit

In partnership with Salon D'Art,The Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey will be the first hotel to execute a large scale exhibition using a new technology that allows art enthusiasts to take "guideless tours" using their iOS mobile device or iPad.

Guests may choose to either download a free app (compatible for Apple devices only) or check-out an iPad at the hotel's concierge desk, which will enable information to be fed through the device by way of beacon technology. Activated by movement, the beacon will reveal facts as well as purchasing details specific to each work of art when guests are standing in front of it.

Salon D'Art has exclusively chosen The Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey as the first hotel in North America to premiere this exciting and enhanced art experience.

To celebrate its launch, and allow the public to experience a guideless tour firsthand, the AAA Five Diamond Hotel will host an opening reception on September 19th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in its Private Dining Room. The two featured exhibits on display will be Picasso to Warhol, located in the guest corridor and lobby; and Matisse: The Simplicity of Sublime, located in Cast & Plow restaurant. Various limited edition works on paper, as well as originals from these modern masters, will be showcased.
