Relax and enjoy when you discover Dosai. This stylish Indian restaurant is located in the Murray Hill neighborhood in the heart of New York City, so convenient to the midtown business district. Dosai serves the best in vegetarian and vegan menu items that are delightfully flavorful and satisfying. And the cuisine is kosher as well. Specializing in Southern Indian recipes, their new redesigned menu offers an exciting array of options that include appetizers, breads, main dishes and dessert items.

Renowned chef and restaurateur, Hemant Mathur opened Dosai to compliment his other wonderful Indian eateries in Manhattan. His team includes General Manager, Min Bhujel; Head Chef, Michael Joseph; Dosa Chef, Ram Prasad Timilsina, and Curry Chef, Surendra Karanjit.

Dosai has a bright, attractive décor that is totally welcoming. This is a spot that is great for dining solo, with a few friends or you can gather your group. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable and they are pleased to help you select an ideal meal.

Many of the menu selections are designed for table sharing. Tempting appetizers such as Lasoni Gobi, a spiced crispy cauliflower, and Panipuri, bread seasoned with tomato water are wonderful starters. And there are "Mini Meals" like the Pongal, plain rice and lentils tempered with ghee, peppercorns and curry leaves. For main dishes, Dosai offers both traditional dishes such as Saag Paneer, and unique selections such as their perfectly seasoned, Red Pumpkin Thoran. Freshly made breads, and sides pair well with your meal. We loved the presentation of dishes, a feast for the eyes and the palate.

A menu item in the spotlight at Dosai is the dosai, or dosa bread. This large fermented crepe is made of rice batter and black lentils. Expertly prepared, they serve a variety of stuffed them with dipping chutneys. Their most popular include the Dosai Masala, filled with spiced potatoes and the Dosai Paneer Masala, stuffed with paneer cheese.

The price point at Dosai allows you to return again and again to relish their delicious food. You can eat light or enjoy a full meal and still be assured of a totally pleasing dining experience. One visit will never be enough.

Dosai is open for lunch and dinner from Monday to Sunday from 12:00 pm to 10:30 pm. They are located at 104 Lexington Avenue (between 27th and 28th Street) New York, NY. Take-out and catering is also available. Call them at 212.213.9615 or visit their web site at http://www.dosainyc.com/#home.
