Dance Academy USA officially launched its first-ever "School Spirit Challenge" last Friday - a contest aimed at Cupertino, California area schools to earn cash prizes for the winning schools' Parent-Teacher Associations or Associate Student Bodies.
"We're just four days into this contest and already the competition has been fierce," said Jane Carter, Co-founder and Artistic Director of Dance Academy USA. "There's still plenty of time left to go and, at this point, the top prizes are still up for grabs - any school can win."
The School Spirit Challenge is open to all K-12 schools with a minimum of 100 students in the Cupertino area. Voting began last Friday, May 17th and will run through June 2nd. The school that receives the top number of votes will win $2,500. Second and Third prizes are $1,000 and $500, respectively. Participants are encouraged to vote as many times as they want, however; automatic voting programs designed to cast multiple votes for one school are strictly prohibited.
Thirty separate area schools are currently included in the School Spirit Challenge and, although voting has already begun, Dance Academy USA strongly encourages students, teachers and parents to submit their school for inclusion in the contest if they are not already on the list. To have a school added to the School Spirit Challenge, voters should write to officeteam(at)danceacademyusa(dot)com and ask that their school be included.
"Voting only began five days ago," said Carter. "There's still plenty of time left for additional schools to be added to the contest and plenty of time left to get enough votes for your school to win one of the top prizes!"
DAU has worked hard to make their School Spirit Challenge as simple as possible. Voters simply need to visit the newly redesigned Dance Academy USA website, find their favorite Cupertino-area school and click.
