Velocity will present STRICTLY SEATTLE SUMMER DANCE INTENSIVE 2013, running July 7-27, 2013 at Velocity, 1621 12th Ave, Seattle, WA. Performances will be held on July 26 and 27 at 8pm, with a 2pm Saturday matinee in the Broadway Performance Hall, 1625 Broadway, Seattle.

A total immersion into the Seattle dance scene, Strictly Seattle is a world-class festival located in one of the most culturally vibrant neighborhoods in the country. Now in its 16th year, the intensive offers three weeks of rigorous physical and compositional training, and rehearsals for beginning to professional dancers and culminates in a weekend of professionally produced performances.

Hundreds of dancers from across the country come together to study with renowned Seattle choreographers and teachers, create and perform new work, and take their dancing to the next level. Artists, students and audiences share their knowledge and inspiration through daily classes, jams, informal showings, conversations and performances. Strictly Seattle is a forum where dancers meet and work together, forming alliances for future collaborations.

Super-charged Strictly Seattle performances feature six new works by some of Seattle's most celebrated choreographers: Zoe Scofield, KT Niehoff, Marlo Martin, Mark Haim, Ellie Sandstrom, and Ricki Mason. Strictly Seattle is one of the liveliest, community-centered contemporary dance festivals in the country.
