Vancouver Recital Society (VRS) announces its 2014-15 Season: an international array of classical greats and rising stars who will share their gifts in the most intimate of contexts. As VRS audiences have come to expect, the season boasts both musical icons and longtime favourites, such as András Schiff and Paul Lewis, coupled with emerging talents making their Canadian debuts. The occasion also marks the launch of VRS' bold, new visual identity following almost a decade of operation without a distinguishable logo or brand.

"This will be the 34th Season for which I have curated the VRS' musical offerings, and I am every bit as excited now as I was in 1980," says VRS Artistic Director Leila Getz. "From the sublime to the wonderfully ridiculous, there is a transformative musical experience to be found in each one of our extraordinary recitals. I look forward to all of the discoveries ahead and to sharing their talents with our city's classical music lovers."

The VRS 2014-15 Season includes:

Emanuel Ax // January 18, 2015 at The Chan Centre

Steven Isserlis & Robert Levin // March 13, 14 & 15 at Vancouver Playhouse
Beethoven's Complete Works for Cello and Keyboard are traversed over the course of two concerts and a lecture-demonstration. A co-presentation with Early Music Vancouver.

Ian Bostridge & Wenwen Du // April 15, 2015 at Vancouver Playhouse
This thrilling, intimate engagement will see the internationally-acclaimed tenor lend his effortless, unforgettable voice to Schubert's iconic Winterreise.

An inspiring and deeply affecting afternoon of songs from the celebrated baritone and his piano accompanist.
