VSB's DON QUIXOTE At The Concourse On Sale Today

Following their sell-out 2018 season at The Concourse, Chatswood, Victorian State Ballet return with a festive classical ballet treat for audiences in 2019!

Don Quixote is a spectacular festive and flamboyant ballet, retold through excellent staging, mime, superb classical ballet skill and choreography, which honours the spirit of this great classical work. A cast of internationally recognized artists will bring to The Concourse the highly skilled ballet technique of original choreography by Petipa, which will be re-staged by the company's director Michelle Sierra.

Audiences can expect unforgettable performances by world class leading dancers, on Saturday night Kitri - Nana Yamamoto & Basilio - Lee Zammit and the Sunday Matinee - Kitri - Rebekah Petty & Basilio - Cieren Edinger. Lee is a Sydney trained dancer from Tanya Pearson Academy, who joined VSB in November. Petty is from New Zealand, she joined VSB in 2013 and is VSB's Principal Artist. Nana comes from Japan and joined VSB in 2018. The famous Act 3 Grand pas de Deux, will feature the ballerina in her 32 fouettes and the male dancers spectacular tour en lair!

VSB are seeking 28 male and female young dancers aged 10 to 17, the play gypsy dancers, towns children and on pointe dancers for the Dryad scene. Auditions will be held at The Concourse on Saturday, February 2.

The Victorian State Ballet is Victoria's ballet company established in 2003. It boasts a rich and diverse repertoire from full length grand classical ballets, neo-classical and innovative contemporary dance works, reaching local, regional & interstate communities.
