Seeking: texts, matches, likes, friendship, love, validation
Striving: perfection #AmericanDream #MillennialStyle
Searching: for signal
Infusing dialogue, dance, and video, Searching for Signal is a contemporary theater experience that captures an authentic slice of life in this fast-changing world. Follow two dreamers as they trek through a world of misconnections and struggle to separate their virtual identities from who they really are.
The show's creators and co-artistic directors, Elizabeth McGuire and Marissa Rae Roberts, have pulled from interviews with Millennials, research, and their own personal experiences to create a culturally relevant performance piece. Focusing specifically on the struggles young adults face today, this show remains relevant to every adult that has ever tried to make it in the "real" world while searching for love, friendship, or simply themselves.
Searching for Signal is ToUch Performance Art's final piece as Artists in Residence at the American Repertory Theater's OBERON. ToUch has had the honor of working with the ART since 2012 and has been an Artist in Residence with their staple show, AcousticaElectronica, for the past three years.
